Fun pictures from Snow Day at Savannah's pre-school.  It was too cute.

We also had a fun playdate with friends.  Here are some pictures of Savannah and Annabeth playing.  There are also a couple of Valentine's Day photos.  These two girls sure love each other!

Zoo Breakfast at the Reptile House

We were lucky enough to have breakfast in the reptile house at the zoo this weekend.  While I may not enjoy dining among snakes and lizards, the girls and Sean certainly did!  The girls were brave and touched everything that was brought out for them to experience.  Thus, they got to pet a bearded dragon, a snake and a baby komodo dragon.  They were thrilled.  There was also crafts and face painting.  Annabeth got a flower painted on her hand.  Savannah, who refused at first, got a butterfly and a flower on her hands.  It was a great morning that will not easily be forgotten.

Annabeth really liked this turtle.  She kept coming back to it.

The bearded dragon, or was it a bearded lizard?  I don't know.  His name was Velcro because he apparently feels like Velcro, not that I would know.

I'm actually amazed I was able to take this picture without hyperventilating or having a nervous breakdown.  It is amazing what we can do for our kids.  I was determined not to show them how scared I was of that tiny snake.
Ms. Baby Komodo Dragon did not really want to be manhandled.  She kept crawling up the keeper.  Did I mention her nails are over an inch long?
Savannah was fascinated by her.
Annabeth getting in on the action.
Savannah petted the dragon and then she moved suddenly.  Causing her to jump back in the picture below.  It was so funny.

Happy Birthday Savannah!

Savannah turned 4 on Saturday. I am amazed at how fast the past 4 years have passed. Savannah is such a sweet little girl. She loves helping people and gets very concerned if anyone is hurt. She loves animals. She even has a way with dogs who don't like kids. Here are some pictures from our festivities. Her big day included time with both sets of families. We went to the children's museum and her favorite pizza place. She was serenaded twice and got to blow out two sets of candles.
The pictures below are from her big day. They are also from a recent trip to the zoo. We took some donuts to school for Savannah, so there are some pictures from school too. There are also photos I took when Sean and the girls were investigating a ladybug. Annabeth did eventually squish the poor thing. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Heather got a new camera on Christmas Eve from Sean and started taking pictures. Here are a few from Christmas morning. Santa brought the girls a new kitchenette. Some favorite gifts were a guitar, a barn/tent thing, multiple pandas, and Super Why dolls. It was so fun to watch the girls this year. I know next year will be fun too. We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

Snow Day!

We actually had snow today! It was real snow. It was coming down in buckets. We were so excited we decided to get out and play in it. Annabeth was shaking she was so cold by the end of our play time. It was great and I hope we can get out and play in it some more.

Animal Magnetism

Last Wednesday I was almost certain I had found my true love, again. While I have always known Sean is my true love, I had doubts for the first time. He was tall, with big dark eyes and a gentle demeanor. He was social and good with the girls. Luckily for Sean, this lanky beauty is a giraffe. His name is Kiva. I met him when we were lucky enough to have a private feeding at the Houston Zoo. We spent 30 minutes with him and a young male named Miles. Miles was adorable. He let the girls get close, until they moved quickly. Then he would just walk away. Giraffes are fun to feed because there is no fear of being bitten. Giraffes don't have top teeth. Their tongue is 18 inches long and is as nimble as a finger. They weren't too slimy either. Kiva would come down and nuzzle you with his face. Apparently he loves women and would do this on command. I loved it. It was so sweet and fun. Hopefully we will be able to do this again someday. It was a real joy.
